Preparing for departure

It is less than two weeks away...

I am just now realizing that I really am going to be on a plane that will take me far, far away

To encounter and embark upon landscapes
My eyes have not yet beheld
And my soles have not yet tred,
But my heart and mind are ready to embrace it all.

  1. Edna St. Vincent Millay wrote a poem called "Travel"

The railroad track is miles away,
and the day is loud with voices speaking,
Yet there isn't a train goes by all day
But I hear its whistle shrieking.

all night there isn't a train goes by,
though the night is still for sleep and dreaming,
but I see its cinders red on the sky,
    And hear its engine steaming.

My heart is warm with friends I make,
    And better friends I'll not be knowing;
Yet there isn't a train I'd rather take,
    No matter where it's going.

  2. I wanted movement and not a calm course of existence. I wanted excitement and danger and the chance to sacrifice myself for love. - Tolstoy

Your love is your passion and this journey you are about embark upon will be just that... so keep on moving.

  3. To travel is to see things through differing lenses. Taste, touch, colors, smells and a sense of history that transcends time and place and leaves an impression upon you that you can recall anytime, anywhere and revisit those places for a lifetime. Touch the stones at stonehenge, smell the smells of coventry, recite some Shakespeare on the street, smile and laugh with a stranger, and Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!
